This fine art print celebrates Foinavon, the 1961 Grand National’s 100-1 winner. Abstract drips of paint depict the legs of horses and jockeys leaping a fence, capturing the movement, excitement, and historic drama of this unforgettable race.

Foinavon
Foinavon was the horse that won the 1967 Grand National with odds of 100-1, he started at the rear of the field, pretty much every horse in front of him fell at fence 23 (which is now named after him). We often meet customers at our shows who parents won quite a lot of money on that race! The jockeys silks were black with a red and yellow vertical stripe - he's the horse 6th from the left in my painting.
I produced this painting using fluid acrylic paints, letting them drip down the canvas to produce abstract shapes, I then 'found' the horses within the paint, adding the jockeys once I had defined the field. The heads are the last thing I paint and I always do a leg and head check to make sure that there are enough horses for the riders!
All our prints are gallery quality and are produced on 240gsm archival paper using Epson Ultra Chrome pigment inks.
EXPLANATION OF OPTIONS:
Unmounted Prints
For some prints we offer an A2 or 40cm x 40cm size unmounted print that is sent rolled in a cardboard tube. If available, it will show in the options above. Please note that the A2 image may vary from the original which was not necessarily painted in A2 ratio. The A2 image shown above gives a truer representation of what you will receive.
Mounted Prints
Mounted prints are sent in clear protective bags with backing boards. We use textured, antique white, acid free, white core mounts to ensure that they will remain in perfect condition for years to come.
The sizes shown depict the overall size of the mount.
Mounted & Framed Prints
For our framed prints we use contemporary frames in either black or white which are ready to hang straight on your wall. We use acrylic rather than glass to frame our 15” x 12” and 40cm x 40cm prints as it is safer to send, it will not affect your viewing experience at all.
Hand Embellishment
We also offer Hand Embellished prints, which I hand finish with a medium that adds sparkle and shine, mimicking the light that would fall on the landscape in the natural world. Because I add this by hand, every picture is different, giving you a unique piece of art for your wall.

- Orders over £35.00 – Free Delivery
If your order is for only a couple of cards we’ll always pop an extra one in for free to cover the postage. We base our costs on ‘small parcel’ but use ‘large letter’.
